7-speed transmission S tronic (DL382)
The 7-speed S tronic transmission (DL382) from AUDI is a fully electronically controlled dual-clutch transmission that combines the advantages of manual and automatic transmissions. It has been used since 2016 in the A4, A5, A6, A7 and Q5 models with longitudinally installed engines, replacing its predecessor DL501.

The production of the individual parts involves tolerances in the µ range. A deposit on the installed valve block can lead to impairments in the transmission control or even destroy components completely.
For this reason, AUDI specifies a service interval of 60,000 km or 5 years for this gearbox, but without changing the installed hydraulic filters, as these are installed in the valve box behind the oil sump. In addition, before dismantling the oil sump and the slide box, a cross member under the vehicle must be removed in order to have access to the aforementioned components.

Even if this makes the filter change more costly and labour-intensive than if it is carried out according to the manufacturer’s specifications, our VAICO technicians advise regular filter changes for this transmission.
