The intake manifold module mixes the recirculated exhaust gases with cooled air and distribute them back to the individual cylinders. This air flow is regulated through swirl covers. Over time, they become soiled with soot, which prevents them from closing completely or restricts their movement. Consequence: Error messages in the vehicle and a reduced engine performance.
